Supercharging Real-Time Sync: Why We Moved to Native Cloudflare WebSockets
At Medizys, we know that when it comes to patient care, every second counts. Whether a triage nurse is updating vitals, a doctor is calling the next patient, or a patient is checking their queue status, the information needs to flow instantly. Today, we are thrilled to announce a massive underlying architecture upgrade that makes our platform significantly faster and more reliable than ever before.

Our new streamlined, edge-first architecture ensures everyone stays in perfect sync.
The Problem: The Need for Absolute Speed
Previously, we relied on a robust third-party system to handle our real-time messaging. While effective, routing our data through external servers introduced tiny fractions of latency. In high-traffic clinic environments, these fractions add up. We wanted a solution that was native to our infrastructure, ensuring that the moment an action is taken, it is reflected across all devices immediately.
The Solution: Edge-Native WebSockets
By migrating entirely to Cloudflare Durable Objects, we have eliminated the middleman. Our real-time connections are now terminated directly at the edge—meaning the servers closest to you handle the data sync. This reduces bundle sizes, eliminates extra network hops, and brings execution times down to the sub-millisecond level.
